girl scout

I've decided to spend the rest of my free days exploring and making the most of my time in the city. The weather is very inviting to visit museums and movie theaters, sitting at cafés or on very lazy days, staying snuggled at home.

transitions

And just like that, autumn is here. Grey skies, crisp, chilly winds, light drizzles almost non-stop! It's been grey since Friday, except for three or four minutes of sunshine we were lucky to catch on Saturday while walking through the Luxembourg Gardens.
The leaves are changing colors and coats are starting to come out of storage ... or in my case, shopping bags! I found this little treasure after weeks of searching for the right size and color.

day and night

Last week, I joined my boyfriend on his business trip to Clermont Ferrand. I kept myself busy walking though the pedestrian zones, wandering in an out of almost every store in the city and sitting at cafés reading my novel. In the evening, I joined my boyfriend and his coworkers for drinks and dinner.

Here's what I wore for my day in the city:

five days in Rome

A few weeks ago, we took an end-of-summer vacation to Rome for five days. The weather and the sights were incredible, almost dreamlike. There was something yummy to either look at or eat on every corner, and we are already thinking of when to take another holiday.

Weight and baggage restrictions + very careful packing = five outfits for five days in Rome.

journée de patrimoine

This Sunday, we took to the streets of Paris to enjoy the last day of the journées de patrimoine weekend, during which one can visit most museums and government owned buildings. We started the afternoon with the Jardin des Plantes but the greenhouses were not participating in the events so we wandered elsewhere, visiting the majestic Bibliotheque Sainte Genevieve and Hôtel de Ville, Paris' city hall. Both visits were equally entertaining - the library made me wish I was a student all over again, brought back memories of when I used to work in a library and got me thinking that maybe I should spend some time there; Hôtel de Ville took my breath away with the lavishly ornate decoration and breathtaking chandeliers hanging from literally every inch of the ceiling! Mr. Mayor, I'd like very much to be invited to a party chez vous! It was the perfect way to spend the last Sunday of summer.

I took advantage of the great weather to mix fall and summer pieces and wear my brand new jacket for the first time.
