blossomed

Everything is in bloom and the skies are ever so blue ! I love Paris in the springtime - so much color, so much light, so much fun ! Saturday afternoon we took a walk through the blooming jardin des plantes and up the quais of the river before getting caught in a springtime rainstorm.

wonderful

The weather this week has been out of control incredible. Sunglasses are officially in my purse or on my face for good. The sun shining on the buildings in the morning as we cross the Seine on the train is uplifting and leaving work before sun down, I feel like a little kid skipping my last class! To celebrate having a longer evening than usual, I made Nutella cupcakes but I'm excited to spend my evenings on the balcony or café terraces dreaming of summer to come !!

spruce-age

top: H&M; pants: Old Navy

Not feeling my best is not an excuse to pay any less attention to my self, on the contrary I feel like I need extra spruce-age to brighten up my day. Today, I took a classic, rather plain outfit and added quite a few things for fun.

fifi fille

It's finally spring and I'm back on the balcony!
As soon as I saw that a new Fifi Lapin collection was out at Pimkie I knew I had to get to a store as soon as possible since I had missed the previous collections from Forever. I love the little bunny's fashionable spring attire on this tee and figured it would be a fin way to say, "bienvenue le printemps !"
I can't wait for frilly dresses, saying goodbye to tights, sandals and pedicures, apéro on the balcony and endless fun in the sun !

two in one

This week ended with two days of talking, walking, sightseeing with my family (and quite a bit of clowning around with my brother), enjoying the sun and the city as much as possible before it was time for them to go home.

Wednesday Night Loves in a quartier revisited

L’Auberge Espagnol was one of the first movies if not the first movie I watched when I moved to Paris. One specific scene of that movie has stayed with me forever, as Xavier moves through his new neighborhood and says that after 10, 20, 1000 times, the newness will have faded and it will be home.

Since my boyfriend is out this week and I’m staying with my parents in the apartment they’ve rented for the week, I feel like I never left my old quartier but I’m also looking at it with a different pair of eyes: noticing things I never noticed before, walking down unvisited streets and finding that while I thought I knew my neighborhood, there was a whole other side to it that was left undiscovered.

- walking to and from work – the fact that I can do this without a winter coat is incredible

- looking into boutique windows that I used to oogle at when I lived in the 3rd before, and thinking, “oooh ! I can afford this now!"

- my new shoes, the perfect transition from the winter boot (though they could use a little breaking into)

- the classic decoration in the apartment: I love it all – the mouldings, the window treatment, the sconces

the tourist

As my parents are in town this week, I am taking advantage to revisit the city and get to know it all over again - from the highest of heights!
Yesterday our trip through the city took us up to the Butte Montmartre and ended atop the Eiffel Tower - how's that for a site-seeing whizz through town?
Of course, I thought this would be typically the best outfit for me to wear!
